About the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) Depository Library
A depository library is generally defined as a library legally designated to become an access point for publications and other information resources produced by governmental and non-governmental organizations (eg. Federal Governments, Patent Offices, the United Nations, the European Union, the Arab League, the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange, etc).
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Depository Library houses publications and information resources of more than fifty International and Governmental entities. Some of our largest collection are those of the United Nations (UN), the European Union (EU), the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange, and many others.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Depository Library aims at supporting teaching, learning, and research by acting as an information clearing center for these entities. The Depository Library is located within the main reading hall on level F2.
